Many eminent neurologists have crossed the threshold of the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, but a curious fact about the red-brick building, the historical home of the discipline, probably escaped them. It is that between 1949 and 1958, the basement of "The National" provided an occasional setting for a very unusual dining society known as the Ratio Club.
